When to wear a safety harness?

As an employer, you are responsible for the safety of your operators when they use an aerial lift. Concerning the use of a safety harness, any operator exposed to a fall of more than 3 meters must wear it, unless other devices offer an equivalent level of safety (Article 346 of the Regulation on Occupational Health and Safety – ROHS).

Also note that the choice of safety harness must be appropriate according to the specific requirements of the work being carried out. There are different types of harnesses suitable for various situations, such as fall arrest harnesses, work positioning harnesses, or harnesses with fall prevention devices.

It’s also your role to provide your employees with adequate information about the correct use of the safety harness, as well as to ensure its regular maintenance and inspection in accordance with current standards and regulations.
